What is Vortex Garage?
Wrenching on cars, trucks, tractors, or whatever is a big time hobby for me. While not a professional shop, I’ve been wrenching on cars for family, friends, and others for 20+ years. I’ve gone from working outside on gravel and dirt, to parking lots, and finally to the larger shop we have today. I’ve prided myself on working as closely to professional standards as possible in a home based shop, and understanding the engineering and processes behind mechanic work.
Video just another hobby
I started doing small videos as far back as 2009, but even before that always wanted to make video content. For me, it’s yet another hobby. I’m no professional, but we’ve gotten better at filming. 95% of the content we have is filmed on tripods by me as I work, and then edited by me.
Our videos often focus more on detail than on short form content – we hope folks enjoy them, but also gain deeper understandings of the jobs performed.
While our work is never a replacement for hands-on professional knowledge, or a factory service manual, we do try to bring cameras along with the work to give an understanding of what may be involved in certain jobs.
